Prayer you may use:
God of all people, we lift up to you all the people who are currently incarcerated, here in our community, and worldwide, as well as their families and friends. Our friends and relatives in prison face a hard path moving forward. We pray that you are a healing presence in the lives of incarcerated persons as they walk the path of justice and reconciliation. Whether free to move about or locked up, we are all your children, deserving of love and dignity. Help us not to shy away from one another or turn our back on those in the system. Open our hearts and minds and eyes, that we may see how to walk with those oppressed by unjust systems, how to change those systems, and how to give back dignity and humanity to your incarcerated children and their families. Amen
